No story about Define Dental is complete without mentioning its own, Dr Les Jabbour. A little bit like Define Dental, Les is a Gold Coast icon. As a local boy with a vision, Les had his heart set on being a dentist as a child. Would you believe he’s been going to Define Dental for almost as long as he’s been alive!

Les visited Surfers Paradise Dental Centre (as it was known then) as a kid, and was a long term patient of both the original practice owners, Dr Foster and Dr Cowie. He was so inspired by the ethos of the practice, he became a dentist himself.

After being the recipient of many awards and graduating with Honours from the University of Queensland in 1995, Les gained valuable experience around South East Queensland.  Eventually, Les made his way back to the practice that set him on the road to where he is now. Starting as an associate dentist, and then buying into the practice, Les took over full ownership in 2011. With changes in location and a new vision for the future prompting a re-brand to Define Dental in 2017, Les is on a mission to recreate people’s experience of their dental care so they feel great about seeing the dentist.

More than the local dentist who cares for your teeth, Les inspires his team with a big goal - that you walk away with a smile on your face and a smile in your heart. It’s what defines Les and Define Dental. He is the proud dad of six beautiful kids, happy husband to Heidi, and inspired advocate for giving back to the Gold Coast community.

Surfers Paradise Dental Centre was founded prior to 1952. For many years, the practice was located in the heart of Surfers Paradise. As we grew, we desired to make our practice more accessible, so we made the move to Benowa. Our location in Benowa is central and easily accessible from all areas of the Gold Coast. The bonus for patients is the easy on-site car parking and no more struggling with Surfers Paradise traffic.

Making the change to a new name wasn't easy. Surfers Paradise Dental Centre has been a long term pillar of Gold Coast dentistry. It was essential that our new branding reflected everything Surfers Paradise Dental Centre was, while also portraying the evolution and vision of where we're going. We feel Define Dental does that. Defining excellence in dental care on the Gold Coast for longer than any other clinic.
