Our procedures are streamlined to keep infection prevention and sterilisation at the forefront of everything we do.

To provide you with the excellence in dental care you’ve come to expect from us here at Define Dental, we implement the most rigorous and thorough infection control protocols to protect you and our team.

The entire team at Define Dental are highly trained on infection prevention and control. As members of the Australian Dental Association (ADA) for over 25 years and one of the first practices on the Gold Coast to be independently accredited, we have tirelessly continued on with that quality assurance. This means you can rest assured our safety, hygiene and infection control protocols are world class and have been independently assessed. They have been designed to meet and even exceed the standards set by the ADA, National Health & Medical Research Council and the Dental Board of Australia.

We constantly invest in updating our premises and equipment to stay at the forefront of best practice. A short list of examples, just to list a few things includes:

A completely new air-conditioning system to optimise air flow, ventilation and improve the air quality within Define Dental
State of the art autoclaves – also known as sterilisers with exceptional capabilities. We always ensure we have more than one so there is always a backup on hand
Ultrasonic cleaners to facilitate the instrument processing prior to sterilisation
Reverse Osmosis and distillers to ensure water quality of the highest standards.
Instrument processing workflow and packaging to ensure they are sterile at the point of use
We also use Batch Control Identification to be able to track the instruments we use at each and every appointment back to the cycle they were processed
Only cleaning products and equipment approved by the TGA (Therapeutic Goods Administration) are utilised at Define Dental.

Wondering what’s the big deal about being an accredited dental practice?
In simple terms, it means dental care delivered to you at the highest possible standard. We do this in many ways, such as voluntarily commencing a formal accreditation process in 2013. We achieved the accreditation milestone in February 2014.

As an accredited dental practice under the National Safety and Quality Health Services (NSQHS), it provides certainty and confidence in dental care every time you visit Define Dental.
